Oracle Bone Script — 甲骨文字

Oracle Bone Script is among the oldest known forms of Chinese writing, dating back more than three thousand years. Carved onto ox bones and turtle shells for ritual divination, its forms convey an archaic strength and immediacy. At once pictorial and symbolic, these early characters mark the distant origins of the written tradition that would later develop into Chinese characters.
