Expose to the Trees
(木晒)
Inspired by the quiet strength of wood weathered by time and nature, this work reflects a distinctly Japanese sensitivity to beauty shaped by the elements. In traditional Japanese aesthetics, “木晒” refers to wood left exposed to wind, rain, and sunlight until its surface is refined by time itself.
The piece evokes the quiet transformation of wood through the four seasons—spring, summer, autumn, and winter—each leaving its own subtle trace upon the surface of time.
